Hi, I’m Marla Leongomez, the creative force behind MLDesign Interiors. As an architect and interior designer with over 17 years of experience, I’m passionate about transforming spaces into personalized works of art that enhance everyday life. My approach is rooted in listening to my clients’ needs and translating their vision into functional, beautiful environments that reflect their unique style and aspirations.
I believe great design is a balance of simplicity, color, scale, form, and function. Whether crafting a cozy home retreat or curating a dynamic commercial space, I thrive on problem-solving through design — exploring innovative solutions that seamlessly blend aesthetics with purpose.
My academic foundation includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Universidad Piloto de Colombia and a Master’s in Interior Architectural Design from California State University, Long Beach, where I graduated with honors. I’ve been recognized with awards such as the Institute of Store Planners Student Retail Design Award and the Distinguished Achievement in Creative Activity Award from the College of the Arts at CSULB.
Throughout my career, I’ve led projects across California, South Florida, and Denver, spanning residential, hospitality, and commercial design. From initial concepts to project completion, I’m hands-on in every phase, leveraging my expertise in industry-leading design software and my deep understanding of materials, finishes, and spatial flow.
I’m also fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, allowing me to connect with a diverse range of clients. Beyond design, my background extends to photography and graphic design — creative disciplines that enhance my eye for detail and storytelling through space.
At MLDesign Interiors, I’m not just designing rooms; I’m curating experiences. I love collaborating with clients, architects, designers, and contractors to bring visions to life, ensuring each project feels cohesive, thoughtful, and truly one of a kind.
